It's Official: NFL and NFLPA Extend CBA

As reported by, the NFL and its players union have agreed to extend their Collective Bargaining agreement by seven days. The deal keeps the players from seeking relief in the courts and the owners from locking out the players.

This means a couple of things:

1) We can get back to focusing on Charlie Sheen; and

2) The NFL is doing the prudent thing here. It runs a billion dollar business, and it is a good idea to move ahead as cautiously as possible. This may not be the last extension we see. If the sides make good progress, we could see a further agreement to negotiate. There is still a significant divide on how to share revenue, but time should bridge that gap.
