Kovalchuk Hearing Starts Wednesday

According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Kovalchuk hearing will start Wednesday.

As per the CBA, the hearing needs to wrap up within 7 days, which means that it could be done quicker than that. Rumours are that the parties are aiming for a 2 day hearing. However much depends on how the hearing unfolds, and what the arbitrator Richard Bloch requests as far as the production of evidence. We could have a decision in theory as soon as the weekend, or into next week. The arbitrator Bloch is very experienced in this type of labour dispute, so that may help narrow the focus of the hearing and keep things moving.
