I interviewed Dan Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal. He covers the NFL for the publication among other topics and his stuff is really good. We talked top NFL issues as we enter a new NFL season.
We covered Peyton Manning, the NFL ref situation, the sale of the Cleveland Browns, expansion, relocation, a team in Europe, competing in the Olympics and whether we will ever see a team in Toronto.

With the Buffalo Bills claiming Toronto as their own, NFL expansion to Toronto will never happen. Since we have seen that the Bills are simply not a draw in Toronto and Rogers Centre is not a football friendly stadium (see Toronto Argonaut issues) I don’t see NFL coming to Canada at all. And why would they? Millions of Canadians already watch professional football (CFL/NFL) each week with no franchise in site. I don’t see this changing with a team in southern Ontario. There is really no incentive.
As a lifelong and long suffering Browns fan, I am both excited and wary of the recent sale. While happy with the fact that we will now have an interested owner, I am nervous about another move. He can say all he wants, but Haslam is a businessman first. Having spent a billion dollars on the team; a move to LA will seem much more palatable when attendance inevitably dwindles this year in Cleveland.
Engaging interview nonetheless. Go Browns.
